A. We recommend all pets start receiving yearly ophthalmic examinations starting
at 5 years of age. Additionally we recommend any time you have concerns over
your pets vision or appearance of the eye. Common symptoms of eye disease
include squinting, increased blinking, scratching or rubbing of the eye,
redness of the white/pink tissue of the eye, haziness/ cloudiness or blue
discoloration of the center of the eye, reduced vision, increased tearing or
a green/yellow discharge from the eye.
